To answer a few questions concerning this DD. This is a photo of Apollo. He is a hybrid malamute / wolf mix. In this photo he weighs about 90lbs, he's huge. This photo was taken near St. George southern Utah about 20 minutes from the Arizona border. It doesn't normally snow here as it is desert. On this rare occasion it snowed about 9 inches so we went out to play and take photos. Apollo minds well, is very gentle, loves other dogs and people and he is eager to please. If you notice in a few of the other photos from this shoot he appears to be smiling, he loved the snow day. Thanks to everyone for your interest in this beautiful animal.
Beautiful picture, but is this actually a wolf, or a wolf-dog hybrid? He/she looks a lot like one of my sled dogs: Bandit, but bandit has a lot more white in his fur the other thing is I heard that black fur in wolves occurred as a result of wolf-dog breeding.
Im just asking out of curiosity I like the picture, The Canine is gorgeous.
You could be right, I dunno. I guess no ones an expert and a picture cant say enough about the animal I only bring this up because my older husky, "Monkee" gets commented on frequently about appearing like a wolf, even to the point of one woman arguing with me at the dog park that he was definitely a "hybrid", and regardless of his friendly disposition was scared of him LOL.
I suppose I should be happy, that is the reason why people tend to like Huskies and Malamutes, their wolf like appearances, although personally, I just like big energetic dogs lol
